Monitors: XLR / Jack

Hi everybody,

I'm looking for monitors to complete my set up. I currently work with an Alesis Multimix 16 FW and a Macbook Pro.
At the moment, I use it to record my band playing but I now need to invest in some monitors in ordder to do a better mix.
I do not need big or expensive ones as it still is amateur activity and the room where I'll mix is not that big (12m).
I had a look at some and it looks like the Adam AX3 seems a good solution for what I'm looking for.
If anyone has a different opinion on them or another suggestion, I'm open.

However, I see that input in those monitors is XLR and the output on the Multimix is Jack. So i'll probably need XLR-Jack cables. But as I really do not know anything on this subject (but willing to learn), can I ask someone to point me to the right cable to choose? (for instance, I know that the cable between my bass amplifier and the cab (speaker) is not the same type as the normal jack I use between my bass and the amplifier).

Everything is a "jack" -- XLR, 1/4", 1/8", RCA, etc., etc., and so on.

Okay, I suppose BNC is a "connector" as opposed to a "jack" - But I digress.

Anyway -- You'll need a set of 1/4" TRS male to XLR male cables.

Indeed, but, even in France, they call it Jack's :)

"Jack" is UK for 1/4" phone connectors, male or female, plug or socket. In the US "jack" usually means the socket of whatever type of connector as opposed to the plug.
