Oh REALLY????
So, you guys helped me alot with the monitor issue.. I understand that going cheap is gonna cost more really quick LOL. Anyway. My budget is low. I'm recording rock and alike. band stuff. I ofcourse I want the best within a homerecording budget.

Now I'm considering the M-audio BX-8, the KRK RP-8, possibly the behringer 2031A (oh god, i know, but damnit my wallet wants me to include them  ) or ADAM p11. anything else is either not good enough (decided this by reading all your comments ) or to expensive (those ADAM S3A's look wonderfull :o ) . Tell me what you like, but please tell me why too (for example; cmopare em to the reveals, since i can demo the reveals almost anywhere...). I do not want to buy monitors again for several years... I want to spend THAT money on some decent preamp and compressor.

I really wanna make the right decision since this is a shit load of money (at least if you are me). ANyway, since the KRK's are not out yet here in holland i cannot compare the M-audio and the KRK's. Which are what I'm probably gonna get. Unless you're gonna bitch slap me for my ignorance. Be gentle... it's my first time LOL

Out of those 3, the ADAM's are the apparent winner.

They're not exactly anywhere even close or on the same planet price-wise, though... So, I'm not sure HOW they made that list.

If your willing to shell it out for the Adam's, then what exactly is your budget?

The 2031A's are running $299us. The 2031 received great reviews from several publications. Electronic Musician ranked them above most monitors in their class. But, that was before M-Audio kicked in recently. I do think that the Truth is one of the products Behringer did right. And they received the accolades for it. And your looking at a 8 3/4 instead of a 5 inch for the price comparable M-Audios.

I really like my KRK RP-8's.

Geet, what other monitors did you compare the KRK's to? I currently have a set of Alesis M1 MkII's that I'm going to be selling to upgrade, and I've been thinking about the KRK RP-8's, Event TR8XL's, and the M-Audio BX-8's. I have not been able to check out the KRK's locally, as the only way my local shop will order them for me is if I buy them...

Thanks!

Sorry, what i saw was the price per piece not the pair for the adam's. So a pretty dumb move :o . Also, i will not be working in a acoustically treated room. I know that is dumb but currently i just can't (i rent, very strict rules.) Will getting the more expensive monitors help or is this a waste of money and should i just get the behringers?

Good luck man

Dude....try them all out at the store if you can? I know the Behringers look so tempting since they are so cheap but only buy them if you can return them! I mean this!

Behringer is hit and miss! I use a Behringer V-Amp Pro and a B-1 condensor, and for the price they are pretty damn good! But I have bought their Direct Boxes before and they just sucked....Ohh, and on the V-Amp pro I have to use the SPDIF out because the cab simulator XLR outs are so noisy it sounds like ass! So what I am saying about Behringer is that they are hit and miss...I bet their effects aren't too bad cause effects are easy to produce, but good sound is another?

The KRK Rockits are fairly new, and you can get them pretty cheap from www.zzounds.com/a--2676837 and Ijust saw the M-Audios on Ebay new with free shipping for $399 Pretty good....I would probably lean more towards them and the KRKs. But Like I said, try to hear both

As for me, I have a smaller corner studio desk and am looking at the Event Studio Precision 6s. They are 200wLF and 80wHF which is huge for a monitor that size....They are also $1000 but I don't know if my stand will hold 8s? Heavy things and I already have a huge 19" monitor on it. So I got that going for me(as Bill Murray said in Caddy Shack)! haha
Later.....Lorde out :o

thanks. Buying new means i get warranty right? so that wouldn't be the problem. It's just that i have no idea about what ois goos. It's like my first guitar.. i bought shit and didn't even know it. i don't want to buy another pair in a year ya know?

Thanks thpough,

Guhlenn
