Hi everybody!
After a long search for active monitors,
I narrowed it down to following:

Event PS6
Tannoy Reveal Active
Alesis M1 Active
Yamaha MSP-10
Spirit Absolute 4P

Please help me decide, but PLEASE don't go: "OK, these are good monitors, but XY is just a little bit more expensive, but much better...". Thanks!

The answer is - which ones of the 5 you've narrowed it down to sound better to you? You're the one that has to listen to them and learn how to mix on them! Let your ears decide for you, not someone else's opinion....

 And please don't say you're going to buy monitors without listening to them, 'cos that's... well... just plain dumb!!! ;)

Yo MIHA: spelled backwards is A him?

I will be plugging in a pair of Yorkville monitors into my system within a week; just waiting for a call to come and pick them up.

Several posts have touted these speakers to be pretty good, especially for the money - 108 dollars per speaker.

I will be yanking out my Alesis 1 monitors; they are what a friend of mine calls, "budget" speakers. So are the Yorkvilles but they get favorable words from people out there.

Yorkville gear is made in Canada and they have been around a while dealing in sound, as per Bruce's post. However, they also make a large diaphram mic which might outdo and out perform many of the the "others" that cost much more.

Will be investigating Yorkville and its products and will post news when I have it.

Let your ears and your wallet be your guide.

Hey GH....

Miha did mention actives, which the Yorkvilles aren't, but since their cost is so low, there's money left over for an amp!

Just a quick question...

Hey, I listened to the MSP-10's when I finally got my butt down to a store that sells em a month or so ago... They sounded real good to my ears, but I haven't heard ANY of the others so I can't really say.

You're definately gonna have to A/B them and pick the ones that sound right to your ears.

Do you know the price of the 4P's? I've been looking everywhere and I can't get a price.. not even from one of the stores in town!!

I've been happy with my M1 actives. Have some extra bass, if that's important (was to me) and are mirror image. Good deal at around 500 a pair.
