I'm having a monitoring problem, now that I've been adding some external FX to my Cubase setup. I use SX3.1 on Mac G5, with a MOTU 24 i/o.
With a new Lexicon MX400 and ART TCS compressor, I've used the external FX setup in Cubase, so I can use them a plug-ins. I have everything routed in and out of my MOTU so it would work seamlessly.
I set up the ART compressor as an insert plug-in to process an electric bass on a bass group track. However, once I did that, the meter on the bass group track stopped altogether, although I could still hear the bass. After further inspection, it seems that the bass was coming through my cue mix on the Cue Mix Console software. I muted the cue mix - and then I heard no bass at all!
Clearly there is a monitoring issue, as I want to know why when I activate the external plug-in as an insert, the metering stops, and how do I remedy this to actually monitor what's going through Cubase?
