Monitoring with Outboard Effects...Paralyzed by Indecision!

Unsure if this should go into "The Rack" board or not, but I will try here first. I now know 1 way to monitor the tracks I am laying down with effects plug ins in Cakewalk sonar 2 0 XL (aux sends), and that is cool, but.... I am interested in monitoring the track(s) that are being laid down using outboard effects to minnimize CPU/disk usage. The only way I can currently think of is to use the outputs on the back of my Aardvark Direct Pro Q10 to feed the effects unit(s), which in turn will go to the headphone amp (behringer HA somethingorother, not in front of it right now.) Is that the way to go? It seems like a rather, I dunno, cumbersome way of doing it.

If you are using the Q10, why don't you use it's internal patch bay to map the actual input to the headphone output, rather than having the patchbay set up to monitor all input sources.

Exactamundo! Excellemuntatious, and Far-FUG-nu-gen!

That is sooo perfect

Absolutely exactly what I needed. Thanks a million. Now I got me some reading to do...

Thanks again!
