I just got an hd24xr and I have question about setting it up. I'm mixing and monitoring with a console, but i want to record to the computer because of the immediate editing capabilities. So if i choose analog on whatever channel i'm recording onto, the hd24 will get the preamp signal and pass to the computer, but if it's not in digital it won't play back the other tracks in order to overdub. So i have a controversy. with the newer firmwares, you can have digital on some and analog on others, but they're in groups of 2, so what if i'm overdubbing only 1 channel and want to hear the other channel in that pair. Seems like it's got to be easier. Plus, i have go in manually and change each pair to analog or digital based i'm where i am in the recording. Is there anyway to set it so it passes both analog and digital and won't actually monitor them. i basically just want to use it for it's converters.
any help will be appreciated. i have the newest firmware as well.
