Monitoring multiple channel input levels

For the past year I've recorded with a stand alone DAW, exported tracks to CD, imported to AA 1.5 and mixed via PC. I started experimenting with recording one input directly to PC....MIC>Preamp>Soundcard input and like what I'm getting.

How do you monitor input levels of multiple channel recording (ex: 8 mics on a drum kit) in Adobe Audtion 1.5?

....or does this need to be done through the software mixer application provided with the soundcard?

Answered my own question

If you wait longer the answer usually comes to you.....

It is monitored via the sound card mixer application. In my case, it is Delta.

... and if you right click on the meter you should see an option to meter all channels. All monitoring and metering indeed comes from the soundcard.
