Monitor volume

How loud do you set your powered monitors at?
I have a pair of event ps8's and the volume on the rear goes from 7am - 5pm. Ive had mine at 1pm since i had them. Someone told me i should have them turned almost to the max.

No, you should have them so that 0db out gives you a nice comfortable listening volume.

Well what about the monitor level knob on my sound card(digi 001)? that can influnce the comfortable listening volume.

You should use a level that is comfortable to you but keep in mind that while your mix may sound good at a high volume may not sound as good at a low volume So you should try it at both levels a adjust your mix to sound good at high and low volumes
