Monitor Problems - High Pictched Squeal

I have hooked up my passive Tannoy Reveal 6's to a 275W AC Sony Power Amp.
The Aux on the amp is then connected to the main mix output on my Firewire mixer and the Firewire cable goes back into m computer.

When I turn on the amp however, a high frequency squeal, not an incredibly loud one, but an unbearable one, is emitted.

It can only be stopped by turning off the amp. The noise changes in pitch when the computer in being turned and is saving its settings.

Is it some sort of electrical interference from the CPU, or have I hooked it up to the wrong sort of amp or something like that?

Any help would greatly, greatly appreciated as I am itching to get mixing.

does it do it if you change to a different in put on the amp (even if there's nothing hooked to it)??? how about if you disconect the interface from the amp??? incedently if the amp has one marked simply amp in that's the one you want....

The buzz is still there if you say, change from aux to phono or tuner or whatever and only disappears when you either take out the phono leads that connect it to the mix output are unplugged at either end or you turn the amp off.

I cant do pictures but I'll do a crappy diagram.

By the way, I've tried disabling any other sound drivers as I found out that that may cause the buzz and I've also tried different plugs as I heard it may be caused by groundloops, whatever they are.

Didn't work.

does that sony amp have a direct in??? on the back it will say simply amp in... if so try that... though it's starting to sound as if the problem may have to do with a reaction between the FWmixer and the sony...
 
No, it just has AUX in, and and Tape 1 and 2 out, Rec 1 and 2 out and thats it.

I think it could be to do with the FWsignal and the amp, or the graphics card,
the squeal changes pitch and volume during boot up.

just guessing, but the stereos i had and been thru many have never had a hgigh squeeling sound....i'd start with the pc too.
