Monitor help

Hey all,

So I have a job at apple and get discounts on both m audio and jbl products. With that in mind, any suggestions for my first pair of monitors? I was looking at the BX8's from the m audio line and I don't know much about JBL's lineup, other than a friend told me their frequency response is pretty flat (which is kind of what I'm looking for since it's my only pair).

I don't have any experience with m-audio monitors but after buying one of their interfaces and spending a lot of time reading their forum, I'm convinced to never spending any more money on their products. I got rid of the interface and accepted the loss. I've talked to several people who are greatly more knowledgeable than me when it comes to recording and the use and repair of recording gear. The consensus is that the quality of m-audio gear has declined in the last few years. Just my personal opinion, hope it helps.
