I am new to the whole PC recording thing and I have just built a new editing computer for my work. Right now I am going to record onto my Korg D1200 and export the files to my PC for editing, until I can afford a decent Interface to record into the PC. I have a standard soundcard on my PC but when I am pluging in my Monitors to the card I am getting no sound. Am I missing something?

these are power monitors, I didnt think I needed an amp when they ar self powered.

You might have the output muted in the sound card control panel. Double click the volume icon in the system tray, go to "options", "properties", "playback" and all the outputs will be there.. make sure the one you have your monitors connected to is checked so it shows up in the control and make sure its not muted.
