Monitor Amp

Is it ok to use an amp that is too powerfull for the monitors it is going to?? For example. . .a Samson Servo 260 for a set of Yamaha NS-10s?? It has neerly double the power necessary. How will that effect the NS-10s??

Its actually better to use an amp that is more powerfull than the speakers they are driving. This is because when an amp get cranked you start to get power amp clipping and that is usually the cause of speaker damage. Try the search button at the top right of this screen, I'm sure you will be able to find another post about this topic.
