Modifying PZMs

I recently purchased a few RS PZMs and I'm modifying them to be used with Phantom Power.
I've come across some other mods that seem curious to me, but I was wondering if anyone here has done any of the following?

a) Replacing the metal plate with a 6"x6" piece of plexiglas.
b) Removing the bit of black fuzz from the front of the capsule.
c) Enlarging the hole in the front of the capsule.
d) Reinforcing/sealing the rear of the capsule with epoxy.

Please share your experiences(good or bad) if you have performed any of the above.

I can't tell you from expereince...don't have any yet but the latest Tape OP (and a subscription is absolutley free in the continetal USA) at tapeop.com there is an article about experimenting with the media you mount it to and I think they listed some of the other mods you mentioned as well.
