??modify An E-v 1776 For Phantompwr

I have an E-V 1776 condensor that I've had for some time. Used to love it but got tired of putting batteries in it. It won't work with phantom DC power and E-V sez forget it. Is there a way to modify it internally to use +45 Phantom Power from my Mic Pre.
I know that there are some experts out there...what do you think???
