I posted this in the cubase section. Thought someone here might know as well.

I have been trying to control my Yamaha MD8 with Cubase 5 essential. I seem to have my MD8 setup to receive MMC but am not having any success with getting Cubase to send any actions from the transport. Has anyone out there been able to do this or know the direction to point me so I can get this working? Really all I want the MD8 to do is play when I hit play in Cubase.

Under synchronization settings in the transport tab, there is a check box that needs to be ticked setting cubase to "master control machine"

I have looked around on the web and have seen screen shots of the option that I believe you’re talking about. For some reason I don't seem to have the machine control section in my synchronization setup. I am doing a Ctrl click on the sync on the transport to get the option window up. Is that the same place you’re talking about? Is it possible that Cubase 5 Essential does not have this feature? Or am I messing a setup in some other location?

After making a call to support I have found out this is not an option in Essential or Studio. :spank:
