Mixing with monitors and earphones?

Hi all.

I use a pair of KRK G2 R6 monitors, and now I am after getting some headphones to go with making recording easier and mixing too as it isn't always practical to be having it come out of the monitors. What I want to know is, should I go for a pair of KRK earphones to be a close and accurate match to the monitors, or does it not really matter what brand of headphones I use regardless to the monitors I'm using them with?

Not familiar with KRK headphones, but the general rule is that mixing with headphones will give a not-very-good stereo image and overall sound due to the proximity effect of ears-to-transducers.
