Mixing with a Drum Bus

I just started experimenting with compressing a bus drum mix and mixing it back into a song this weekend. I was curious to how other people who use bussed drum mixes, process the bus. (I do know the “do what sounds best” answer.)

Do you mix in the whole kit to the bus, or just part of it?
How much compression do you use?
Do you use any EQ?
How much of the Bus do you add back into the mix and do you know when too much is “too much”?

Personally I bus the kick and snare to a stereo aux track and compress a good bit. Also use compression on the seperate tracks also.
Watch you dont get that overcompressed sound though.
