mixing vocals with piano

Are there any tricks/tips for mixing the two? I'm having trouble blending the two together to sound right :P

Any effects i should add to the piano track/vocal track?

Got any advice?
 
Try cutting the piano track with EQ between 1K-3K a little. If that doesn't make them play nice, then keep moving your eq cuts until it sounds better.

If you haven't compressed the vocal, that is often done to make the vocal more discernible.

Thank you for the response! Any vst compressors you could suggest? I'm recording with adobe audition and the compressor isn't the best.
Or do you have any compressor setting suggestions?
Adobe audition is the program i'm only going to be using and I know it isn't the best so please don't suggest other recording programs :P
