mixing suggestions

So, im trying to do different types of songs so i can improve both as a musician and a mixer. Here are two more:

From the mixing standpoint, these are the things I think are generally wrong with my mixes.

1. The vocals generally seem separated from the rest of the song. Like in a professionally mixed song each instrument comes together so its sounds like they are all played together and are part of one unit. For me, some instruments, usually the vocals, sound separate like I already had the rest of the song as one file and then layered vocals on top.

From these two songs, do you get that impression? How would I go about fixing that?

2. The quality of the mixing sounds really different from one system to another. I play the songs on computer speakers, high quality monitors, a stereo, an ipod dock, and it sounds kind of different in each, sometimes good, sometimes not as good. When I play professionally mixed songs on the various systems the quality of the mix is much more consistent and always sounds good.

I have no idea how to fix that one. I figure it's probably out of my league for my present skill level.

Any specific mixing suggestions for the two songs is greatly appreciated as well.

I had a listen to the first tune. The vocals sound separated in this one I think mainly due to the heavy reverb/delay on them, which the rest of the mix doesn't have. As an effect it's fine, if that's the effect you're after. If you want the vocals to blend more, don't create such a radically different space around them. Be more subtle with the reverbs, try and get the delays to repeat in time with the tempo. If you have a reasonable sounding room, try using fast release compression to get stuff meshing better
