Here's a real difficult question to some degree, ive been mastering some new songs lately, and am finding that digitally im having to guess somewhat at the frequency holes im hearing are as the monitors im using aren't really picking up the tones to well...(after 80hz she seems non respondant(generally the low end for the kick an bass are fairly tricky to get)...(within the general area, its a weird thing im hearing, and i have yet find someone with the answer(or even suggestion im sorta looking for, general direction to consider eq wise).

The set-up im using seems to more midrange tolerant, then lowend(basically its a bitch to figure out the tones your missing, more orl ess im finding that I have to use a Spectrum analizer, snap shot the recording, write out the frequencys then go in,and set the eq to try an fill the holes*lol*....its a little excessive).

Basically im looking at a limited budget,so mastering the stuff in studio is out of the question,so im sort of in strange territory,as theirs not many folk were i live kicking out the material thats atleast comparable(what i mean by that, everyone here's usually doing their stuff in one of the local studios, theirs not to many folk doing the engineering and producing themselves here).

ill show you few tunes so you kinda see what im talking about,im guessing that the frequency range around 80-250 and below thats is more or less were im loosing what im doing....
the results are just below what im shooting for(give take a some spit polish, electrical tape, and a ukranian guess or to*lol*).

here's the first tune you can listen to:
http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=234249&T=2402
(the issue im finding with this tune inparticular is the lowend punch....its not quite their....)

same thing on this particular tune as well:
http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=211023&T=2544
(the kicks a little midrangy,as im finding with this system in particular, that thats the only way im able to seperate stuff drum wise....the bass because of the lowend on it,is their but not quite up as much as i would like it).

Same problem on these tracks as well...
http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=300797&T=7593
http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=300942&T=4856
(those of you not into nine inch nails,i'd probably say that you may not want to listen to last 2 tracks as examples)
I tried a different approach guitar wise here, but found i had a strange compression thing happening on this track.
http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=265611&T=8517
(it is a little fuller sound wise though).
Im using wavelab, waves platinum edition more some of the mixing, and I use freefilter with some captured eq's (quite a nifty little gadget, love how you can morph eq's onto your own recording....helps elimanate some of the hastle of mixing i find.)

Basically im just looking for a few suggestions attack wise on the problem(eq,approach.....anything to add into what im already doing,as i would like to polish this stuff up.)

the drums on the above tracks are programmed by the way,in good ol fruity loops(amazing little toy, especially when you start getting depth of field on the toms in their when programming)

So if you have the time, and a few suggestions,I'd be greatful to give them a wurl.
sorry for the long post, just a little frustrated....
thanks for the time and reading the post guys:

It just kinda' sounds like your kick samples are lacking some balls. Use better ones.

actually already ahead on that....

Yeah i recently switched to the drum kit from hell samples, allot better on the equing especially with the kick drums etc.....
(not on any of the tunes poasted yet)problem is picking up the lowend period, even with heavy sounding kicks(im got the 300$ joey kramer set and several other top named sample disks, generally its still falling into the same area).
thanks for the reply though:Alex
