Any tricks for getting a great sounding rock vocal to sit well in the track.......i'm talking mostly post production. I've got a pretty good singer, but am having an impossible time to %100 mesh with the track. It sits ok, just doesn't quite gel.

What do you guys do for......
1) eq
2) reverb
3) any other techniques

I'm trying to get an Oasis type production value. Is reverb a big component to this, what kind?

Any and all suggestions towards vocal mixing, effects, and production would be great.

......specific settings would be great

see, that's where it gets tricky......

specific settings that work great for me would be, at best, vague for you, and for some things (like compression), the settings would be downright WRONG.

the most I can tell you is to try as many different mics as you can on the singer when you're recording him, try different rooms, have him stand in different positions to the mic, until you find something that you think really gives you that "rock" (in this case, oasis) sound you want. record it, and go from there, adding eq, compression, or whatever else you want, to taste.

yeah, I forgot to say compression, but I am using it...............don't get me wrong, the stuff sounds pretty good, just not great....................also, do you guys use much reverb on electric guitars?

also, do you guys use much reverb on electric guitars?

For songs that have a slow tempo i like to use a decent amount of reverb. This helps decay the sound and hold the sound longer.

For fast songs I tend to use hardly any because it muddies things up alot because in a fast song you want it to be as tight as possible
