Mixing/Mastering/Effects?

Yeah Wally, when I was about 15 I used to hang around at the local music store, the owner was really cool, he knew I was a broke ass kid and wasn't actually going to buy anything yet he didnt mind answering questions, letting me look through all the catalogs and mess with all the cool gear, I was in that store as often as I could make it and I would just hang out there for hours. Every saturday after lunch there was a jam, all the local guys would come into the store, send out for a couple beers and just grab an instrument and jam, really cool. I couldn't tell you how much I learned in that place. Of course because the owner was so cool and laid back he had INCREDIBLE customer loyalty, he was making a killing because he knew his stuff and nobody would even think of buying from any of the other music stores.
 
I buy all my gear from 2 places, both which I've known the owners for years. It started by me as a teen hanging out asking questions and learning everything I could, no matter how dumb it is. It's a great marketing move. I spend a little more sometimes, sometimes I spend less, BUT loyalty is there and I know I'm not being fed poo!
 
was the phonebook remark taht stupid? it's brought up so much i think i made a dumb remark... i got mine by calling like a 100 studios and asking them all the same questuionms... what a variety of answers...

ok. i got confused. thought that in the us of a phonebooks didn't exist anymore or something... we europeans are so hopelessly behind;)
