This is a bit of a stupid question but, how do you mix in CoolEdit??

There doesn't seem to be a mixer anywhere and there isn't anything useful on this in help.

After separately editing each track, you set the levels and pan and/or use the pan/volume envelopes in the multitrack-view.. then you go; edit->mixdown.

Like Meshuggah said. You mix in both Multitrack and Edit views. Keep in mind that any change you make to a track when you're in Edit view is PERMANENT. Any change you make to a track while you're in mulitrack is just a CHANGEABLE setting that doesn't affect the original waveform.

Permanent? on my version of CEP there are undo buttons in both edit and multitrack mode. The only thing that you cant undo is when you record over a track when not punching in.

(cough) Uh... okay... keep in mind that any change that you make in Edit view and save is permanent, and any change that you make and save in Multitrack view is changeable at any time and doesn't affect the original file.

Dont all programs discard undo info once you save a file? Thats alot of real estate on your hard drive to keep a history of every step you make in mixing. I just save an uncompressed, uneffected copy of each file and start from scratch if I opt to redo anything.

yes, it does disregard undo info.

I usually back up the ORIGINAL tracks to disk, as well.. knowing anything I do I can replicate if a track goes bad.
