I've experimented with some guitar vox and djembe by tracking the guitar in stereo (I am assuming it is an acoustic guitar). Pan the guitar fairly hard R/L. Vox down the middle (unless you have back vox, then pan to taste). Then with the djembe (bongos) pan then middle (or barely off center) and add a stereo effect (delays and reverbs can be fun). From here you could try moving your stereo guitar more to one side and pulling your bongos slightly to the other or pan the effect to one side.
The basic set-up is fairly simple and it's sometimes hard to get away with hard panning the bongos or the vox, so you will need to be creative to mix it up a little.
