ok im sure this has been asked a zillion times...but all my tracks are down....and im ready to dump it down to dat...could someone please explain to me how i can put my compressor in the chain between my recorder and my dat...so i can HEAR the compressed mix in my monitors..while im going to my dat ...thanks

ok, theres two ways that Ive done this.
A. track compression. Insert compressors on tracs that need them, such as drums and vocals. Dial in the settings and record. May require multiple processors.
B. Compress the mix. Put your compressor After your mixer and Before your recorder. To hear the mix.. run all your tracks through one buss pair(say, 1 and 2)... run the buss to your box.. run the outs from your box into a new channel... assign that channel to a different buss (say L and R).. monitor L and R and sent it to tape.
