Mixing and Mastering question:::

Sup everybody,

So some artists sent me about 7 songs, and they've asked me to do some "Post production" stuff.... (I will not use the term mastering here outta respect)

Besides Parametric EQing, a little Compression or DeEssing,

and the good ol' Waves L2 maximizer....

What should I do to add some shine? I've been consideing some light reverb on a few of the tracks, BUT (here it comes)..

I was wondering if there is way to "limit" the verb to certain frequencies?

It seems like the low end could use some reverb...

Any suggestions? Im running CEP/AA... thanks

I don't know that program but in mine, I can set up an effects chain. Depending on what you wanted to accomplish, you could put an EQ before the reverb. Set it so the reverb only gets certain frequencies. Or put the EQ after the reverb and EQ the reverb.

to combine th last two posts, set up an auxiliary bus, send the mix through that, set your chain up as eq before reverb. filter out the frquencies you don't want (use a low pass), set your reverb how you like and route it back to the mix, put the level where you want.

careful of the mud!

Thank you for your responses,

Hopefully some one familiar with CEP can elaborate,

but you've painted a great picture thus far.... Ive caught wings of the concept..
