mixing a legend

I've just previewed a live recording I made of an acoustic guitarist who had a big hit with Angie in the early 60s called Davey Graham, he was one of the first with a style of acoustic playing that people like Bert Jansch & John Renbourne pay homage to. He was one of the best "CHARACTERS" I've ever had the pleasure of recording & I consider it an honour to call him my friend

I recorded his Martin D28 with an AKG C1000 w/direction clip & a sennheiser MD431 mkII for vocals, that was put through a spirit LX7 & the channels fed to pro-tools

I had 2x SE/electronics 2200As for room/audience direct to pro-tools

as I say I've just listened to snippets of it flat & I am (excuse the size of ma heid!!) feeling sooooooooooooooooo happy

there's also a free-form jazz track my father & I played in the support set on double bass & a parker fly with midi pickup

the bass was recorded with a sennheiser radio clip & the fly was recorded via a stereo bus from the LX7

Fly was setup thru line six pod XT live, piezzo to desk & roland GR20

the rest of our set was with me on a takamine 12 string DI'd thru L6 XT & a C1000 & my father on the fly

wow I'm still in shock

I had to share the buzz
