yo, i'm looking to get a mixer to use mainly for plugging my turn table into to record samples into my s2000......now i wanna make sure i'm gettin the best possible sound quality to it.....so i wa starting to look at a mixer like the vestax 07pro mainly for the 3 band eq on each channel but this is like 2g's aus......is there anything else i could be lookin at......like say buyin a cheaper mixer like the o6pro....i could get it for like 750 and then add an equaliser after it?

you don't really need a mixer for that.

you need a mic-pre/DI.

do you want the mixer so that you can listen to what you have already recorded while you record additional tracks or do you already have something that you use to listen to what you have recorded into the s2000?

consider getting an FMR RNP (www.humbucker.com) or get an M-Audio AudioBuddy. I've heard that the DI on that little sucker is very nice.

Just like crosstudio said.........

You don't need to purchase a $2k mixer just for sampling. If you want to use a DJ mixer, you can pick up any mixer with hi/mid/low channel EQ's controls (for about $100.00 to $200.00).

Now................. if you are in to Turntablism, then you should make the investment of buying the Vestax. But if you just want the mixer for sampling purposes, then pick up a cheaper mixer, such as a Gemini, Numark, etc....
