Mixer tutorial

OK, so I'm buying a cheap, old mixer today, and I'm using it to record drums for my band on Sunday. I have little to no mixer experience. Is there a basic on-line tutorial that anyone could suggest? Mainly I just need to know what the abbreviations on the buttons mean, since this is a used mixer and doesn't come with instructions.
Preemptive comment: Yes, I know I'm an idiot.

gain----extra volume

aux send-----for effects

hi freq------hi eq (or treble)

mid freq-----mid eq

low freq-------low eq (or bass)

pan----choose which side you want that channle coming out of.

good luck.

Actually, I do have a specific question. I noticed my mixer has buttons and knobs labeled "FLB," as well as an FLB out jack on the back. What is this?

Usually stands for "Foldback". A monitoring option.

I think they are usually labled "cue out", "cue" or "cue send".

Is this a Peavey mixer you are looking at?
