Hey Guys, I am thinking about getting a Tascam DM 4800 mixer to control/mix Pro Tools.
It appears you can pull up the faders to either Pre or Remote with the touch of the layers button on the DM 4800.
When I switch from the layer "1-24" to "remote", will the faders on the board, represent the exact same configuration as what I see on my PT mix window?
For example, say I was recording some dialogue. I'd have the layer on the mixer set to "1-24" and I'd record through channel 1 on the mixer, using my favorite mic. Then, if I overdubbed 4 tracks using channel 1 on the mixer using the same mic, I would see 5 channels of audio on my Pro Tools mix window. Now, when I hit the "remote" button on my mixer,would it change those 5 faders on the mixer, to look just the way the mixer looks on my Pro Tools Mix window screen?
I don't know if I am making any sense. I don't know what I am talking about so it's difficult for me to explain this, lol.
Basically, when I hit "remote" on the DM 4800, will it "daisy chain" and display the faders on the DM 4800 exactly as they appear in my PT Mix window? (regardless of what channel I used to track it).
