Hello all

I've just bought a Behringer UB502 mixer, and I'm just curious how the thing actually connects up to the computer. This might sound like a bit of a stupid question, but I can't actually see any outputs for a line-level cord. I can see RCA outputs, but my soundcard doesn't have RCA inputs... so am I going to need to get an adaptor or am I just missing something?

Thanks in advance!

Just Guessing

On the UB502, you have 2 options for going out.
1) there is a 1/4 output of the main mix
2) there are the RCA tape outs

you can use either of these, with pretty much the same results.

to go into your sound card you will PROBABLY need a cord as follows:

i found this cord to plug my walkman into my home stereo:
1/8" stereo to two rca plugs

or you can do this:
1/8" stereo (trs) to 1/4" stereo adapter (usually sold as a headphone adapter)
1/4" stereo (trs) to (2) 1/4" seperate mono (ts) left/right
this is sometimes called an "INSERT Cable", or something like stereo to
dual-mono.

hope this helps

I've got just a cheap-o Vibra 128 sound card so I've just got Mic and Line-in inputs on my card. I was thinking of upgrading to just a SB Live! or an Audigy LS (tight budget you see,) would this be worth it?

Thanks for you help radiorickm, I'll have a look at one of those adaptor cables!

:D
