Mixer question

I ran across this older neve board.
It's a model 542 Series.
Says it's a 12:2:1.
Which I guess is a 12 channel
2 aux sends
1 stereo return.

Would each channel have its own separte output as well?
Any ideas on which pre's are in this board?

That's a cool looking little board. I can't answer your question but I would call Dan Alexander about them. How much can you get one for?

x:y:z does not refer to aux sends or aux returns.

for instance, a 24:8:2 mixer would mean 24 channels with 8 subgroups going to a two channel master output.

That "1" on the end of the description puzzles me. I read that to be a 12 channel, 2 buss, mono??? out console? That doesn't make much sense to me unless it's really old.

Littledog is right. At least in this century. Mixers are designated first by channels, then by sub-groups, and then by final out's.

A mono out just doesn't make any sense to me unless it's an old AM broadcast board.

Any way to check on it's history?

I think its a stereo out.
I'm more interested in it for the pre's than the routing options, which is why I'm wondering if each channel has its own output.

Then it would be 12:2:2. Which kinda don't make sense.

The only mixers I can find that seems to fit the x:2:1 format are the above mentioned Neve and small Mackies. All mixers with no subs at all. And *nothing* on those Mackies are just "1", unless possibly the 1 means "one monitor channel".

I think it's just a way of trying to fit a mixer with no sub-busses into a channel:sub:master formula. They *should* say 12:2, and nothing more.
