I have a fostex MR-8 and am looking for equalization. I'm on quite a tight budget. Should i get sonething on my computer, or something like those cheap behringers?
Since you say you are on a tight budget, i would suggest you to use software eqs, they are much more flexible and much better sounding than those Behringer stuff. Almost all recording softwares come with good eqs and filters. So try one.
It is a Lite version of the more expensive program Cakewalk Sonar. Go to the site and read up on the specs. Also, whenever you upgrade to the next level cakewalk will give you a pretty decent discount on the software.
Or you can try "Audacity" This program is free but I don't know how stable it is. Just type in Audacity as a keyword in Google search engine as I forgot the link.
It dependes on what your needs are. I to have MC 2003 (bought at BestBuy) and went ahead and upgraded to MC Pro, because the features were closer to the Sonar program with the added features. You can try MC 2003 and like I said you can always upgrade at there discounted price. Be sure and check out some of the freeware and shareware stuff first to give you an idea on how to use the software. Except for added features they pretty much are basically the same.
