Hello friends, I've got a few things i need help with.
so i bought a Behringer XENYX 802 Mixer a few weeks ago, because i needed a mixer and was also hoping to figure out a way to hook it up to my computer for some recording.
For christmas i got a makie Onyx black jack interface.

So the few questions i have are:

1) The black jack only has 2 inputs. Will it kill my quality or do any else negative if i plug mics into a mixer and then plug the mixer into the audio interface? I may exchange the mixer if i can.
2) On my mixer theres 2 other inputs, but they arnt mic inmputs and dont have the xlr input or the gain knob. is there anyway i can still use a mic in those imputs?

thanks for any help!

The blackjack is as simple as they come. 2 ins and 2 outs.

The mixer is not going to add anything in terms of quality, or in terms of IO.

The inputs without xlr aren't designed for mics, so there's nothing to gain from trying to use them.

Perhaps you could get a refund, or if store credit's the best they offer, maybe there's other gear you need?
Stands/headphones/mics etc.

so i couldnt exchange the mixer i have for a 4 channel mixer and plug it into the black jack and have 3 extra inputs?

You could buy any mixer you want and plug the stereo output into your onyx, but it won't record as separate tracks.

Yes, you'll have stacks of mic inputs, but everything will just record everything down to stereo.

For actual multitrack recording, that onyx is 2 in-2out and that's it.
