Well im currently using a Presonus Firepod as my main interface, but i think its time for a little upgrade. I was thinking about get a Echo Audiofire 12.... Which means ima need some pres. Would you guys suggest getting a mixer that has outputs for each channel so i can use it along with the echo audiofire?

The most channels ima need is about 8(Recording Drums) Other than that im going since i will ONLY use for RECORDING... No Live.

Im on a budget and thinking of spending about 700 hundred for pres... what you guys suggest?

maybe the nice lil old mixing desk?..you'll get something nice for your money, and the versatility will probably make you ask yourself why you didn't use one sooner.....but then again, that's just me.

For 700 you should be able to find a used mixwizard3. Excellent preamps with switchable post/pre fader direct outs on every channel.

Alternatively, since you only need 8 channels, you could get an audiofire 8, which has two pres built in, and then a few outboard preamps. Think MPA gold, DMP3, FMR RNP, VTB1....Sytek MPX4aii if you can swing it...

Im digging the Allen & Heath mixer. Any other similar mixers with great pres and direct outputs for each channel?
