Trailing Behind Again
Mixcraft website

Anyone ever used this? I wanna get something new because the copy of Sony Vegas that I have is second hand and I can't register it and upgrade it. Sooooooo, I was thinking about this.

From the site:

"Mixcraft™ 2.5 allows you to record and mix music like the best producers and DJs at just a fraction of the price. It’s designed to be fast and easy. Focus on your creativity and not on technical details! Many users have found that they rarely need to use the help file. Cut, paste, edit and shape your sounds the way you want! Use effects like reverb, flanger or EQ or install a variety of DirectX or VST effects to add tremolo, distortion, chorus or even remove the vocals from a song! This flexible software can be used in many ways, such as recording your first solo album, remixing a song mash up, podcasting, editing commercials or even making a production for your daughter’s dance or gymnastic recital! You can even export your mix to MP3, OGG , WAV, or WMA, or simply burn it on a CD!"

It doesn't look to complicated, but what kind of power do you think it would have?

Best thing: it's only $39.00...

I'd definitely go with Reaper. I use Sonar primarily, but did download and try out Reaper - great piece of software. Haven't heard of Mixcraft.

I think the development of Reaper is cruising along at a great pace too.

Rokket, Reaper is the absolute shiznit. It kills anthing in it's price range ($40) 1000x over and probably everything else too. I think alot of guys haven't switched yet simply because of a bit of a new learning curve. Put a little time into learning your way around (check out the tutorial videos too) and I'm sure you'll be more than happy with Reaper. Coming from Vegas, it shouldn't take you long to feel things out.

Reaper it is!

Thanks guys!

I'm checking it out now...
