Say Something Smart!
I recorded a song on my PC, and unfortunatley I don't have any studio-type monitors, so I'm using a 3-pc speaker system with subwoofer.
Since there is no CD burner on that PC, I record the song in real-time through my Delta into my Mixer, into my MiniDisc.
When I play the song through a regular system (2-pc. "Home Theater" system...), it's WAY too muddy, but sounds fine on my PC speakers -- which is expected. The PC speakers undoubtedly color the sound.
But, on the system that I test it on, it sounds muddy, but I can change the treble and bass to make it sound just fine!

Here's my question: Should the mix sound good when the treble and bass knobs are right in the middle [i.e. not affecting the output at all]?? Or is it okay to have to adjust them a bit?

Thanks for any tips!

The mix should sound "good" on a "flat" system. There aren't too many of those around, though...

If you upgrade your monitoring, you'll likely get much better results. PC speakers are... Umm... Yeah, you don't want to go there...

Even a decent stereo system plugged in will serve you better.

Thanks John, I knew that was coming...:p

I'll see what I can scrape up from around the house. :D

Adjust your stereo to sound good when a similar sounding cd is played. Then adjust your mix to sound good with those settings.

Thanks Grinder.
I'm seeing how it sounds through pretty much anything I can get my hands on!
