I think this is the third song from Sonny I have posted...

recorded in a live situation...
microphone on the the guitar amp...
upright bass had a mic on the bass instead of the amp...
Two overheads, two auxiliary microphones on the recording machine...

vocals added afterwards

I believe it will be your biggest challenge to bring the bass up in the foreground...
have fun

Always a challenge, lol
Check it out and let me know what you think. I fixed some areas that needed some touch up too! Snare flub, guitar switch before lead, and vocal near end of lead that appeared to come in too soon...
Most difficult part? The drums were all over the other tracks, lol

I totally remember that flub with the vocals...we recorded 3 versions of just the music...Sonny picked this one to sing to.

seems like a challenge, lots of room sound and bleeds. ill give it a shot

Here's my take on the song. with lots of bleed, and almost no clean signal the bass was a real tough job. i think it's not all the way audible now, but its being felt throughout the song.
EDIT**: Here's a better version of my previous upload:

didn't do any editing, except fade ins and outs, and a bit of gain structure on the guitar. added some stereo depth with panning, reverbs and delays. used a lot of parallel processing to get the low volume stuff up, on the snare guitar and vocals. did some tune-correction on the vocals, but not all the way- to keep that natural feel.
there is some general compression, EQ, excitation, Reverb, and general limiting on the stereo bus.

Let me know what you think.
