Mix My Song!!!

Hey Kainz. Thanx for posting this anyway, dude. Since you're not in the contest, I can actually give an opinion.

Sounds good. The drums sound nice and tight. I love what you did in the chorus, making it more sparse. Nice high end all through the tune, though maybe a hair too much on the overheads. (It might be my ears, but the hats sound on the verge of needing de-essing). I find the lead a little loud in the solo, but I find my playing choppy there, so I prefer to bury it. The vocals are up front and cut through nicely. Cool ending, too. Cool take on the tune. Thanx alot for sharing it with us.

You were definitely right about the high end. When listening this morning with fresh ears I heard immediately that bit hars high end (about 7khz+). I was a victim of that oh-so-annoying ear fatigue when I did some slight "mastering" for the song yesterday. I fixed it now (and updated the link - like someone would care hehe..).

When mixing this I tried to achieve analog feel and warmth. That idiotic high end boost I did kinda ruined my initial approach for the sound. Now when I took care of it the sound is more like I intented it to be. Check if you like it!

EDIT: Damn I seem to have some serious problems with my isp and uploading the new file.. if interested RAMI you might try downing the file again later. I have fought about an hour with the ftp server and finally I seem to have succeeded to put the right mp3 there. So you might want to try downin it again unless you got it right already.

Sorry guys...There is no news because the judges are still judging. True sent me a note mentioning the judging deasline...I'll post it later on my site...Hang in there...thanx

Nice to hear you guys (and galls) haven't forgot about the contest... I was beginning to think RAMI just sold all the prizes on eBay and bought 25 crates of tequilla with the profit :D

That wouldn't be fair because Dogman would have the advantage hands down cause they never are. :D
