Yes, and it's great. Two thumbs up.

I'm still undecided on whether it was worth the money...

I wanted more technical insight into mixing, instead there was more philosphical stuff.

The underlying message seemed to be BUY PRO TOOLS. And then buy a whole bunch of analog emulation plug-ins and run them on everything. And then run a bunch more plug-ins on top of the analog plug-ins!!

And then there is the goofy MTV style editing which is very distracting, and the background "score" which is a little bit too loud sometimes.

Don't get me wrong, there is some good stuff on here, and I really need to watch it a few more times. But its pretty damn expensive.

I guess its more beneficial to somebody thats running Pro Tools because you get the files and all of the plug-in settings and everything.

I have been reading about these since before they were released... I'm still undecided on buying them though... Here's why: I record ALL acoustic instruments and vocals. All of the books and instructional videos I've bought only contained instruction for rock instruments like distorted guitars and drums... Does "Mix it like a Record" go much into the recording/mixing of acoustic instruments?

No but it shows how to keep the dynamic (no over use of the compressor).I agree that the MTV style of editing and background music during each intro is distracting.

P.S:i know kinda late for postback....

Go over to gearslutz.com and read the mix it like a record thread. Its not just "buy protools and use a bunch of plug ins" I hate when people overgenaralize like that. In fact if you go over to gearslutz you can talk to Charles Dye himself. He's extremely humble and respectful, he even playfully cuts himself down. I've heard many seasoned pros say its worth the purchase. I'm buying a copy with my next paycheck.

$134 for a DVD? Hell, it's on a DVD-R at that.........
