Mix for critique

Hey guys, here's a cover I did today. I know theres some loud e bow in the second verse, I'm gonna fix that. Otherwise I think the vocal may need a bit of a kick somewhere...your thoughts gentlemen?

I think the needed kick in the vocals needs to come from your voice. Sing louder. :D Sounds pretty good mix wise.

Thanks Trav, but it's not me singing. I dunno, maybe I'll get him to double trakc..its a cover, and the originals a harmony.
 
Overall, it's a bit quiet...if you could bring the levels up, it should give it more depth. The sounds are good and clean....play with them some, to give the piece a bit more dynamics. I like the sparse vocal, but it needs something...maybe add a touch of chorus to it. Bring it up a bit in the mix. Sounds well sung, so maybe a bit more compression, and some chorus, or delay to spread it out, and the vox should sound great.

I did enjoy the tune...it's well done. Just needs a bit of TLC to finish it off.
 
Well I've taken a new approach to trackign quieter and then master-limiting at then end. I tunes seems to ignore the subtelties of the .wav file though.

I agree that the vocal needs something. I don't want it too wet because it's really the only dry thing in the song. I might add a little more compression, or have him do a more kinda..I dunno, powerful performance I guess.

A more powerful performance would be good but, not all the way through....when the drums come in would be a good place to punch it up some....dynamics is the key!!!

Yeah..hard to control though! I think maybe if he gives it more power but backs off the mic it's doable. I'll fuck around wiht it some more anyways. Thanks guys, I'll update asap.
