Hi, I've gone over the wiring, the video, the manual, but still can't get my 424MK3 to mix down on any medium. Tape or CD. Does it matter how the arrangement of any or all of the switches are? all my mic/line tape switches are set to tape. I'm very confused.

Ok..you've got the mic/line switches set properly.
You have the main out (unbalanced rca connectors) connected to your amplifier/monitoring chain.

Have you toggled the Line Out switch to L+R?

Yes, all the mic/line inputs are set to tape, and the L/R out of the tascam are going to the L/R of my mix-down deck. the monitor is ser to L-R.
