missing highs - where to find them?

hey there

so after a long search for a new guitar the conclusion is: NO new guitar. I then wanted to change the thin (very thin) neck of my jackson against a thicker (0.800 or more) one, which makes absolutely no sense financial-wise. damn, these necks are expensive. so if anyone has a spare maple 22-fret neck with locking nut - here I am...

Anyway. If I don't find such a neck I'll have to live with cramped fingers. But now I also found out that there's a lot of high-freqs that I miss with my jackson. I mean this is pretty normal compared to the tele but even my epi les paul has got more high-end.

Where could they be lost? I have a DiMarzio Superdistortion in bridge-position - don't think it's the PU. Could it be the pots or just the wiring?

maybe you just have a lower frequency pickup. you have a jackson, so it sounds like you play metal(just a guess)-for that they aren't made to have high freq because its for bigger beefier deeper sound. just my 2 cents, not sayings its completly true.
