Look Mom, I can play!
In Sonar, Edit>Audio Effects, I have a list of effects, and then a seperate section for Cakewalk effects. Where does the first section effects come from? (Chorus, compression, Waves Reverb etc, about a dozen in total) I assume that they come from somewhere other than my Sonar disc? Why? Because the cakewalk effects have some duplicate effects, but they look different, they have differing controls.

The problem I have is that the help file for these effects are missing and I want to know where I can find them. The only other source that I can think of for such items could be soundblaster (From my sound card). Or microsoft???? Win 98???

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Uh, do you have Sound Forge? ACID? Any other audio apps? They certainly won't be from the Sound Blaster.

I am buggered if I can think of anything. They kinda look and feel like cw stuff, all basic, no pretty skins. Could thre be anything on the Sonar Lite disk like F/ loops, Mixman studio, sound studio Gold that is on my hard disk that could have snook in and placed them there? It kinda doesn't feel like there is.

Interestingly, there is an effect called WavesReverb, written just like that. And in the CW section there is Reverb. Now the Waves Reverb looks similar to CW's reverb but there are a lot more parameters to mess with. Ring any bells? And it is that section that gets to list any misc. downloaded fx, but apart from a few that I've put in there, the look and feel of the rest are consistent in look and feel (i.e. boring!!!). But I want access to them and need their help files....which are missing.

There are a line of plug-ins called Waves -- some of the best on the market. Sure you didn't try a demo once or something?

If the Waves Reverb is there, try using it. There might be some indication of who made it somewhere in the plug-in window.

Spot on AlChuck! Its the only program that has any details on it. It looks like all the others (apart from some stuff I've downloaded) but where did it come from? I haven't bought it, I don't use pirate software so it must have been bundled with something.

Hmmm..... maybe I'll email maxx.com (waves) and see if they can help.

Thanks AlChuck

Weird! Maybe 'tis computer-age brownies that come in at night and improve your DAW with new plugins, etc. :)

The actual program is MaxxVerb and according to maxx was licensed to microsoft. I am now trying to figure which m/soft program put it there!
