Minor Soundfont irritation

Hi guys. I've been using Soundfonts in CWPA for a couple of weeks now with great success. However, there are a couple of things bugging me. Is there any way I can get the Soundfont name to show up in the Bank drop down instead of [SF1], [SF2] etc.

Also is there a way to get drum names instead of a keyboard to show up in the piano roll view when I use a soundfont device on channel 10? I don't seem to be able to use instrument definitions the way I do for my MU10. Or am I just being dumb?

This is not very helpful, but when I had CWPA 9, the Sound Font names did show up in the bank select list; also, if I was on channel 10, I got a drum grid (I think -- I rarely edit drum parts that way, so I might be high).

What version of Cakewalk are you running?

Ah... I never had version 8, I got stuck for several versions on 6.0 and then made the leap to CWPA 9... recently upgraded to SONAR and I like it quite a bit.

In cakewalk 8 you can make the Piano roll show drum names -- go to Instrument Definitions and set up channel 10 to be "MIDI Drums" or something like that, and it should work.

Yeah, I was kinda hoping it would pick up the instrument names from the SF2 file, like it does with the regular Soundfont banks - that way I don't have to worry about the Soundfont conforming to the GM standard.
