I haven't used the MR-PRO (I'd retired by the time they came out) but used to use the original Minrator along with a Minilyser when working on installation projects. They were excellent bits of kit and did what they said on the tin.

I am hoping it maintains the output level accurately under load and frequency. I have been using my Tascam hand held test tone generators but the -10 316 mv level will fluctuate with frequency and load. I am tired of having to constantly recalibrate.

Again, can't speak for the new unit but the original was fine in that regard.

I am wondering if I can set the output level to whatever I want in any increments. Can I set it to 310 mv if I want? Or is it set in preset increments?

It's in steps but you can vary the sensitivity of the adjustment down to fairly small units. For my needs I was more often in dBu than mv and, from distant memory, I think I could adjust down to 0.1dBu increments (but don't take that as gospel...as I say, it was about ten years ago I last used one).

Okay thanks, I have a system when I set the levels on my Tascams. On the machines that have LED segments for meters. I turn up the signal level until it reaches 300mv. At this level the 0db LED should turn on, at about 332mv it should go to the +1db segment. this way I know that 316mv will be in the middle of the 0db LED range. It works pretty well, then I can use the LED meters for all other measurements.
