I have a Yamaha MD8 Recorder and I don't how to plug it into my computer and record. I do have the newest version of Adaptec Software. I just got a new Compaq w/ a cd-rw drive and all the works. How do I go about putting my original music onto a cd? Do I need other software or some kind of special adaptor? If a sound card is needed or assuming that I have one inside the computer, how do I get access to it? Do I need to remove the cover on my presario tower? Please help! Any info much appreciated! Anthony

Most soundcards have an 1/8" stereo jack for the line in. If that's the case, you want a Y cable that has 2 RCA plugs for the MD8 connection and a stereo 1/8" plug to connect to the soundcard.

You'll need some kind of software to to convert the incoming signals to a wav file which can be burned onto a CD.
