Hi,
I have a Sony (cant remember the model) stereo condensor mic and I have an audigy 2 plat ext... The sound casrd doesnt really seem to matter cause I have tested it on other soundcards and my problem is that the volume seems to be pretty low. I can turn up the inout level with the audigy and it does get pretty loud but of course at this stage there is quite a loud hiss in the background as the signal is being boosted way too much in order to be heard at a decent level.... My dad tells me that its the difference of impedence between the mic and the soundcard ... I have looked it up on the net and I didn't ever find any kind of converter or anything that would solve my problem .... is there anyone else out there who had this problem??? and how did you fix it .
I know I shouldn't have bought a minidisc mic ... but my friend recommended it and it works fine with him ... but he feeds it into a minidisc rather than directly into his pc ... which isnt an option for me... also simply buying another mic isnt an option for me at the moment .... although I hear that there is a decent mic made by studio projects called the B1 and it costs about $100 US??? is this true ... and would that plug directly into my card???
Surely a big mic like that would require phantum power or something ...
any info that might help me at all would be great . thanks
