Hi, I'm having trouble recording with a mic I bought about 1-2 years ago. It cost me about 180 euro ish ... its a sony stereo condensor mic for minisisc players.. My friend showed me how good it was (as he had one too) ... I was amazed at the quality of it and bought one myself. I don't record into a minidiscman like he did ... and the volume seems to be low when i record with my soundcard... with the audigy I can turn the input volume way up but the signal is way too noisey then and the loud hiss that can be heard when several tracks are all hising away is unusable really....
I need a cheap solution to this problem as I have no money and won't for some time ... Im a student again
... are there immpedence converters that will take the minidisc level?? and output into a soundcard??
another possibility would be to buy the studio project B1 mic which appears to be only 100 usd... of course this would need some kind of phantom power... and would that mic be able to directly plug into my soundcard???
if not at least the box required would be easier available.... can someone please tell me roughly how much it'll cost and what I will need to be able to plug a mic like the B1`directly (or nearly) into my soundcards to get a decent quality of recording.... or if you have a solution that will get me working with my current mic then I'm all ears . thanks
