Hi all,

I found this stuff called Roxul Safe and looking at the specs looks pretty good.

Thickness 125 250 500 1000 2000 4000 NRC
3" 0.63 0.95 1.14 1.01 1.03 1.04 1.05
4" 1.03 1.07 1.12 1.04 1.07 1.08 1.10

The place where I found it only have it in 4" thick and I was planning on doing my walls using 3 1/2 x 1 1/2 studs so first of all this stuff would be for the acoustic treatment using John's wall design. Do I need to leave some space in the cavity or can I just squeeze this stuff in there.

Would the slot resonators work even though there would be no air space in the cavity?

Let me know.

Thanks,

Luis.

looks good luis. The 4" would have to squeeze into a 3 1/2" cavity whereas the 3" would allow a 1/2" airspace. With that kind of low end absorption would you need the slots??

cheers

I guess probably not.....and now that you said that I just realized that the slots that I am doing will be triangular shape anyways where the cavity would be more than 3 1/2".

Thanks,

Luis.
